opposed to current techniques which take hours), accurate and
quantitative method for the detection of bacterial spoilage of muscle
foods.

I am a member of the Society for General
Microbiology (SGM)
and the Institute of Biology
(IoB) and have a
variety of interests including
the detection and identification of metabolites using a combination of
the many hyphenated analytical
techniques available to our group.
After 11 years in rural Wales (three in Pembrokeshire
and eight in Borth, Ceredigion ), I returned to the
North-West and now live in a village to the South of Manchester and on
the edge of the Cheshire plain.
My interests outside work includes: music
(rock/reggae/dancehall/indie/alternative/post-punk/world/electronica),
the great outdoors, travel, reading, art (especially painting,
photography, and
sculpture), gigs,
gym,
power yoga,
Hatha yoga,
Buddhist meditation,
badminton,
walking, cooking, cinema , galleries,
abseiling ,
and (very
amateur) photography.
